HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EXPERIENCE
One of the most interesting parts of our festival is the interaction between our storytellers and the best biblical performance criticism scholars in the world, who gather prior to the Festival Gathering for a seminar. You can meet these scholars and participate in small group discussions with them during the Festival. We also have fabulous, hands-on workshops for every level of storyteller from beginner to master storyteller, amazing performances from our featured storytellers and national and international member storytellers, deep-well worship, an Epic telling from the Bible and the best fellowship you’ll ever experience at any conference! The Festival Gathering of Biblical Storytelling brings gives you four fabulous days of spirit-filled nurture in the art, scholarship and practice of biblical storytelling.
THEME AND EPIC TELLING
The theme of the 2017 Festival Gathering is Living the Story in the Life Cycle. Our theme scrptures are Genesis 18:1-15 (The Promise to Abraham and Sarah); Luke 2:25-38 (Simeon and Anna) and Luke 2: 41-52 (The Boy Jesus in the Temple). Our Epic Telling (a tandem performance of over 20 storytellers from across the globe!) will be narratives from Luke's gospel.
